We review Tile Guards Silicone Grout Sealer to see it the silicone based sealers perform as well as some of the other sealant technologies.
Tile Guard Silicone Grout sealer is the only sealer that comes with an already attached grout applicator attached. This type of sponge tip applicator is not too practical because a lot of the sealer gets on the tile surfaces. A brush or roller ball type applicator works much better. This sealer is sold in small 4.3 ounce bottles for about $4.19 which actually makes it ounce for ounce one of the higher priced sealers in our tests.

As far as performance goes this sealer won the award for the most inept sealers we tested. As soon as the contaminates were placed on the grout sample it became apparent what a cheap product it was. The dirty motor oil immediately flowed into the grout and stained a large portion of the grout sample. All other stains were very prominent and leached out and spread into the grout.
This sealer performed only a slight bit better then having no sealer on the grout at all.
